9 cm high hand carved sacred wooden Kumarn Tong, empowered through long-term soaking in Sacred Nam Man Prai oil. This Kumarn Tong is one of a very few uniquely individual handcarved statuettes from guru Master Pra Ajarn Supasit of Wat Bang Nam Chon.

This is one of the larger versions which were made from the sacred Takian tree wood donated to Pra Ajarn Supasit. This statue measures 9 cm high and has a shiny surface, from the empowerment of soaking the Kumarn Tong in the sacred oils which have soaked into this holy tree carved wooden effigy.

One of a very small number of special, individually hand carved, and empowered Kumarn Tong images, of a young Kumarn beckoning with his hand. the Kumarn has his hair tied up in a topknot, and traditional Jong Graben trousers, as were worn in the times of Khun Chang Khun Phaen.

Khun Chang Khun Phaen, is a Thai mythical work of classic literature, which is the source of the fame which the Wicha Kumarn Tong enjoys today. this particular pharmacological sorcery was not however, invented in this story. It existed for many hundreds of thousands of years before that. But because the Wicha was used and spoken of in the story, this Wicha of Necromantic Invocation, is thus attributed to the story of Pra Khun Phaen. Pra Ajarn Supasit has empowered a very small number of these extremely artistically and well made hand carved effigies, in a very small number edition of perhaps a dozen or so carved images.

Its image and carving is slightly different in both size and detail for each piece of wood is of course different. so, although I doesn’t all more were made of these effigies, each individual effigy is in itself unique. 

Pra Ajarn Supasit has spent a whole Trimester (Traimas rainy season empowerment), two in bed all the magical powers of sorcery he can muster into these effigies and to awaken them to live with the spirits of all the different Prai Kumarn Tong he could contact to assist in the invocation of Spirits to dwell within the Inanimate forms of the Sacred Takian tree wood.

The Kumarn Tong has received the Rite of Ancient Khmer Necromantic Invocations of the 4 elements and the Kata Akarn 32 to imbue the effigy with a living spirit of the Kumarn. Each individual carved wooden image differs slightly in color and appearance, as each was made and empowered one by one. This means that although a couple of dozen is already a miniscule number of amulets in this special edition, but that also, each amulet is unique in its own right.

Kuman Tong Yord Paetch Amulet by Luang Por Ta Analayo of Wat Pha Kong Kam Chee

The Kuman Tong Yord Paetch amulet made by Luang Por Ta Analayo represents a golden boy holding a diamond in his hands. Approximately three years prior to the making of these amulets, Luang Por Ta had a dream about a young boy who came to him and asked to stay with him. In this dream, the young boy was sat naked with no clothes, and said his name was Yord Paetch. The young boy wanted to stay with Luang Por Ta to help make merits together. Hence, Luang Por Ta decided to make the kuman tong amulets according to the image of the spirit of the young boy which he had seen in his dream.

The Kuman Tong Yord Paetch is made from muan sarn aathan sorcerous earths and powders, including 7 cemetery earths, 7 swamps earths, earths from 7 busy ports, 7 giant termite mounds, powdered forehead bone of a nang prai spirit, ashes of burnt bones from 7 funeral pyres, brokenhearted lady powder, special powders for reanimation of the spirit, and kuman tong herbs. Next, the sacred earths and powders were mixed with see pheung salika long rang (metta balm of the sariga bird getting in the wrong nest’) and nam man sanaeh nang krung (metta oil of the ‘lady wrapped around the phallic’). All these sacred ingredients were then mixed together. From this mixture shapes of the Kuman Tong Yord Paetch were pressed as amulets, and then empowered with incantations for a period of three years.

Most of the time, Luang Por Ta would perform the empowerments during the night time in the cemetery. He would then take a piece of red cloth (‘pha daeng’) and place it on the floor and put the kuman tong amulets on the cloth, all touching each other face to face, which is a part of rap sap magic for receiving treasures. Every Buddhist holy day Luang Por Ta went to the cemetery to perform empowerments from about 9 o’ clock in the evening until midnight. Also, he performed the rituals to invite the devas of the highest celestial realms to come and join the consecration ritual of the Kuman Tong Yord Paetch amulets, and thereby transmit deva minds into each amulet with their own individual spirit inhabiting. Luang Por Ta Analayo used the kata agarn sam sip song and hnun taat see for invocation of the thirty-two parts of the human body, and reanimation of the four elements. The amulets are blessed chanting the kata back- and forwards.

The amulets were empowered in a cemetery in the dead of night, calling the prai kumarn and rak yom deva spirits to dwell within, and then binding the spell closed for a period of 18 years until the child prai deva spirit comes of age. By then the child prai deva spirit can reap the merits of its time helping humans, and rise up to the higher celestial heavens.

The muan sarn used for making this kumarn tong include pong look krok, pong gradug tae 7 takorn (powdered bones and ashes), pong maha put maha prai (‘€˜bhuta’€™ spirit powder), pong bpatamang maha gamnerd, pong wan kumarn tong (powdered herbs), pong hua jai kumarn tong, pong dtabai chanoong aathan (metal vilings of sacred muan sarn of the metallic kumarn tong amulets of the previous edition), prai ghost bone powders of 7 cemeteries, earth of 7 giant termite mounts, ashes from 7 funeral pires, 7 farm fields, 7 gardens, earths from 7 temples and broken pieces of temple buildings (klai) ground up into powder, earths of 7 sacred caves (considered to be sacred earth since caves are the dwelling place of the ruesi, deva and local ruling spirit).
 
Before the ritual of incantations of the muan sarn was performed, there were offerings made to call upon the local devas and ruling spirits. This was done to ask their permission and blessing to perform the ritual ceremony according to ancient tradition. After the invocation, the spirits were subdued and made to agree to join the ritual. Then followed magic empowerments of invocation of the four elements (earth, air, water, fire) to invite the spirits of the kumarn tong to reside within the effigies. After this, another series of katas were chanted, such as the ‘€˜Kata Agarn 32’€™ (32 parts of the body) and the 5 khandas; these incantations were performed 32 times forward and backwards until each one of the effigies were inhabited by a kumarn tong. 


After the ritual ceremony, the sacred powders were mixed with powdered clam shells (pluek koi), which was then molded into the kumarn tong images. These Kumarn Tong Kote Hian Maha Heng are shaped in the style of Kumarn Dood Rok (‘€˜kumarn tong embryo feeding on its umbilical cord’€™), which represents a constant supply of sustenance. The magical effects of this type of kumarn tong are very useful for gambling, doing business, and increasing one’s luck and fortunes.
 
Therefore the person who worships this kumarn tong will have continuously rising prosperity, increased happiness, evasion of danger, and his or her household will be well protected.


The funds of this edition will be used for building a crematorium (meru) for the local people so that they can have their funerals at the Samnak Songk Putta Ariya Rangsi of Kroo Ba Chay Chana.
